About
Mr. Caballer holds a degree in architecture with experience in design, administration, and documentation of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) projects. He specializes in pedestrian and floor safety, including slip resistance and coefficient of friction (COF) testing, and performs scientific investigations and failure analysis of the designed and built environment — including the review of code compliance, accessibility guidelines, and walkway safety standards.
His expertise in premises safety and building code matters extends not only to residential and commercial buildings but also to cruise ships and other large passenger vessels. Mr. Caballer's architectural background and his experience with the National Floor Safety Institute have been central to his premises safety audits and forensic risk assessments in slip, trip, and fall cases.
Prior to founding Build Safe Designs, Mr. Caballer investigated over 600 slip-and-fall, trip-and-fall, and code compliance cases, participated in cruise ship dry dock operations for MSC Cruises at Palumbo Shipyards in Malta, and performed hundreds of building damage assessments following Hurricane Maria. He also applied thermal imaging, laser scanning, and drone photogrammetry during his work with FEMA and ICF International Consulting.
